Summer Fun

I know it's been a while since I posted something, so here it is. I had a lot of pictures, so I made collages with this new cool program that I downloaded. So awesome. Now I have a lot of pictures on here in a small space. So cool!

Well, for my summer fun, Ellen (my totally awesome friend) and I took a short trip to California. We went to Visalia which is where I lived last summer for my internship. We stayed with my friend Kathy. While we were there, we went to the Sequoia National Forest. I have been there before (I have pictures on here in a previous blog entry from last year), and I still find it breathtaking. Ellen loved it and thought it was as beautiful as I did.

The next day, we went to the beach. And let me tell you what, there is nothing like laying on the beach and reading a book! It just can't be beat! I was in absolute heaven that day! Until I realized that I got really sunburned cause i'm a moron! But man it was a really fun day! After we were at the beach and on our way back to Visalia, we stopped by some fair grounds (I don't remember the name of the town) and met up with my good friend Nate. It was really good to see him. Then we drove back to Visalia.

The last day we were in Cali we drove home. We woke up and were really tired and just ready to be back home. So our drive home was fun and full of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and windmills. It was a great trip!

On our trip, we decided that the best thing to do would be to bring all our own food so that we didn't have to spend a lot of money always eating out. We had the best food ever! Cheese, celery, peanut butter and jelly, chips, cherries, oh man, I can't even remember everything, but it was SOOOOOOO good! I'm so glad we choose to do that!

I hope I am able to take another fun trip again soon. I love to travel. I guess i'll just have to work on making more money so that I can take fun trips more often!!!

Just one more....

This is my last post for the day... I hope. Haha. Well, as you can see, I have changed my blog layout and in the process, I lost half of the addresses of the people's blogs that I usually check out! So PLEASE comment on something so that I can find you again and add you! Thanks!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MOM & DAD!

It's my parents 30th Anniversary today. I think that is so awesome! I just want them to know I love them and all they do for me! They're are so great!!!!

HIKING WITH MARCI!!!

My friend Marci (I met her in Logan while I was going to school at Utah State and we became super awesome friends!) came to visit me here in St. George and it was so great and so fun. We went hiking while she was here at the Green Valley Gap and it was so beautiful! Hot, very hot, but gorgeous. I had been to the Gap many many times, but had never hiked to the end. We kept saying we were going to turn back cause we had to be somewhere, but we were both so curious to see how long it was that we didn't even care and kept going. I had a blast and I was so happy that she came to visit! It was a lot of fun!

This is probably my most favorite picture we took while we were hiking. It was a gorgeous day! The sky was so blue that it looked like someone had painted it that color. It was beautiful!

This was also the saddest day of my life...when my sandals that I have had for many years fell apart and I had to hike all the way back to the car with a broken shoe. So very sad. It didn't break until right before we started heading back to the car which I thought was nice of it. But I love those sandals and it's really hard to be able to part with them. They have had a lot of miles put on them! Sad. May my sandals rest in peace.

My Tire Blow Out

Well, it's been a while since I last posted something on here. Not a whole lot has been happening for me in my life. Just trying to get through the last little bit of school. Only 3 more weeks and I will be a college graduate. I am super excited and soooooooooo very ready for that day. Well, since I'm posting something, I will tell about my scarey incident yesterday on my drive home to St. George from Logan. I had a tire blow out and here is my story (this is from an email that i sent my friend. I didn't want to type it again, so I just copied and pasted it!). Hope you all enjoy my story!

So, there I was driving along, minding my own business and i realize that my car is really not liking going over 70 mph. Well, in my smartness, i decide that it's the alignment and that i will be fine. so as i'm driving along, it gets 10 times worse, so i call my dad to ask him what i should do (i'm in ogden at this point). he says that the tires should probably be balanced and i should do that as soon as i get to a place that i can. i say ok and i decide that i'll be fine til i get to st. george. about 10 minutes later, i hear this THUD THUD THUD screetch screetch THUD THUD kakakakakakakaka and the car is shaking super bad (i hope you enjoyed my sound effects) and I look in my rear view mirror and see smoke coming from the back of my car. I calmly say to myself "oh this is just great!" lol. then i get over to the side of the road, turn my flashers on and get out. i trudge along to the passenger side of the car to find that my rear passenger tire blew out. BADLY! There were about 3 huge holes the size of my fist around the entire tire. Sadly I was so just down to business that I didn't take a picture. So i can't even show anyone the damage that was done. so i start the process of unloading my trunk (cause it's full of all the stuff that i moved home) and got the jack out. While I was getting the car up, a police officer stopped by and said "a flat huh?" and i said "more like a blow out!" lol. totally stated the obvious. made me laugh. well, he was great and way nice, i worked the jack and he changed the tire for me. I knew how to do it (cause my dad made sure that we all learned when we were younger. and cause i think things like that are cool! haha i'm such a nerd!) but I was so grateful that he came along to help me. It went by a whole lot faster. Then i drove to the next exit (which was centerville. about 6 miles up the road from where i was) and went to walmart. i had to buy 2 new tires. it sucked. but i was able to get to st. george safely.

My 26th Birthday!

I had a great birthday. My old roommates threw a surprise birthday party for me last week and it was so much fun! A lot of people came to celebrate with me. It was great. :) My old roommate Heather even came up for it. She is so great! The four of us (after everyone left) hung out and had a little dance party and reminisced about last year. It was a lot of fun. Boy do I miss those girls! Here are some pictures from that night! :) One thing that was way awesome about this party, was they got all of my favorite treats. They had sour watermelons, peanut butter m&ms, oreos, brownies, Sour Cream and Cheddar Chips, Ranch Doritos, Grasshopper shots and there was more but I honestly can't remember everything. They also had green balloons since green is my favorite color. They played games that were way fun. And the best part was, they decorated with a High School Musical theme. It was so funny! They even had the music going on in the background. And they made me wear this silly headband with a fake microphone on it. Cracked me up!!! It was great. They are the greatest friends ever! Made turning 26 not so bad at all. Hahahahaha. I love them all!

This is me and my really good friend Miguel.

They made me brownies instead of a birthday cake. They are so awesome!

High School Musical Theme! This is Tiffany Murdock. I call her Myrtle and she calls me Bernie. Don't ask. But we think it's funny!
This is Willy. He is so awesome! Way good friend!

Heather and Ellen doing the Napoleon pose.
we all thought it was funny to put balloones in our shirts. i don't know what our fascination with that is. we did it last year too. lol. i think we are all just a little insane! it's great!

i really don't know what we were doing!

Ellen Decided that sticking balloons in her shirt would be a great idea! Wow i think we all laughed really hard after that picture was taken.

This is us just dancing around. I know you can't tell, but we were totally rocking out!

Ellen is totally wearing my amazing head set in this one.
